During election season we get wrapped up in the larger elections, but our local elections have the biggest affect on our day-to-day lives.

You don’t call the president, or even your senator, when your trash isn’t being picked up, for instance, because it’s your mayor and aldermen who choose the people who either run the public works department or sign contacts with the companies who do.
