The Covington High FFA has had a good April while competing in multiple competitions on a regional and state level. 

On April 11, the floriculture and nursery teams went to Jackson State Community College and competed in the West TN regional competitions.  The floriculture team finished third in the region and the nursery team placed fifth in the region.  By placing third, the floriculture team qualified for the state competition at Tennessee State University, where they placed second in West Tennessee and sixth in the state on April 26.

The Forestry team competed on April 25 at Paris Landing State Park where the team finished second in the district and sixth in West Tennessee.  The team will move on to the state finals in June at Camp Clements in Doyle.  The agriculture mechanics team also qualified for state competition and competed at Tennessee State University on April 26, where they finished first in West Tennessee and fifth in the state. 

“The chapter is super proud of all of their hard work and dedication and is looking forward to the end-of-the-year banquet and starting off the summer with camps and competitions,” said FFA sponsor Jerry Johnson.
