A man was arrested in Munford after barricading himself in a house Sunday night.

Munford Police Chief Randal Baskin said officers were dispatched to Mary Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. for a domestic violence incident.

When they arrived, a man ran inside residence and barricaded himself. Officers attempted to contact him several times and each failed.

They entered the house and located him hiding in back bedroom. The man, who has not yet been identified by police, was taken into custody and transported to jail to face numerous charges.

“Great job by officers to apprehend this individual without any injuries to him or the officers,” Baskin said. “We train for these situations on a regular basis and tonight that paid off.”
