A Brighton man was charged with second-degree murder after fatal shooting Thursday

A Brighton man has been charged with second-degree murder following the shooting death of a woman Thursday night. Details from the incident are not yet completely clear, Brighton Police Chief Mike Durham said Friday morning, but it was a domestic-related incident which remains under investigation. Fugitive Davarious Taylor arrested in Covington, charged with Andrew Terry’s murder

Davarious Taylor, the 20-year-old wanted in connection with a homicide, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and the Covington Police Department Monday morning. Tipton County Chief Deputy will move to school board as CFO

In a surprising move on Tuesday Tipton County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Billy Daugherty announced he would be leaving law enforcement. Local law enforcement officials are becoming increasingly concerned about drug overdoses this year. Covington Police Chief Larry Lindsey said his department has worked six overdoses in the last two weeks, two of them fatal.
