Raymond Cole McDaniel, 22, was charged with second-degree murder.

A Brighton man has been charged with second-degree murder following the shooting death of a woman Thursday night.

Details from the incident are not yet completely clear, Brighton Police Chief Mike Durham said Friday morning, but it was a domestic-related incident which remains under investigation.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released by BPD.

Raymond Cole McDaniel, 22, was also charged with possessing a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony.

“Our prayers are with all the families involved,” said Jere Mason and HMRS Attorneys, McDaniel’s legal team. “We ask that the public remember that Mr. McDaniel is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

McDaniel is being held at the Tipton County Jail.
