Oil spill reported in Covington subdivision last month

During a public safety committee meeting Tuesday, Covington Fire Chief Richard Griggs announced an oil spill was reported in a Covington subdivision on Feb. 18.  “It looked to be used motor oil in a ditch,” he said. “We were told it was the oil out of an 18-wheeler truck.”  The spill was located in front of a home on Andrew Street, in the subdivision in northwest Covington. Three Covington businesses fined for selling beer to a minor

Three local businesses were fined by the Covington Beer Board Tuesday night for making underage beer sales during a police-led operation in January.  Reenaben Ravikumar Patel, owner of FastWay at 880 Hwy. 51 North, was fined $2,500. Man killed in accident on Mt. Carmel Road Thursday

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has confirmed a traffic accident on Mt. Carmel Road resulted in the death of a 37-year-old man. Brighton High robotics teams shine at tournament
