Two killed in separate car accidents on Saturday

Two people were killed in car accidents over the weekend, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed. Officers were dispatched to an accident near Hwy. 14 and 59 just after 5 a.m. Saturday where a Chevy truck traveling eastbound on Hwy. 59 crossed the center of the roadway and hit a Chevy Malibu head on. Covington hostage situation ends after suspect killed by police

A 14-hour standoff ended just after 7 a.m. Friday morning when the SWAT team shot and killed the man who held a woman hostage inside her Covington business. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported Friday morning that 20-year-old Nicholas Kellum of Burlison was killed overnight. Covington man killed on Old Memphis Road

A 21-year-old from Covington died in an accident Monday afternoon, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed. Spencer Farabee, who was traveling on what investigators have called a homemade moped, pulled out onto Old Memphis Road from a driveway on the east side of the road.
