Munford man charged with murder, aggravated arson after fire on East Drive

A Munford man has been charged with first degree murder and arson after a fire on East Drive Tuesday morning. Munford Police Chief Randal Baskin said firefighters were dispatched to the home at approximately 4 a.m. and found an elderly man dead in the yard. The man has not been identified by police. Sex offender compliance checks in Tipton County net 11 arrests

A sex offender compliance check operation conducted Wednesday resulted in 11 arrests, the district attorney's office announced. Munford police searching for missing 13-year-old

The Munford Police Department is currently searching for a missing 13-year-old named Jacob Chilton. His grandmother, Linda Raymer, said he was last seen at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday and was wearing gray sweatpants, a white shirt, and high top Jordans. Mason mayor Emmit Gooden arrested for driving on a revoked drivers license

Mason Mayor Emmit “Dwayne” Gooden was arrested early Monday morning and charged with driving on a revoked license. Atoka, Munford ranked amongst the 50 safest cities in Tennessee

Atoka and Munford have again been ranked amongst the state's 50 safest cities. In a new study released by Security Baron Thursday, Atoka was ranked the 8th safest city and Munford 22nd. The organization said it uses FBI crime statistics from 2016 and 2017 to determine trends in public safety and couples those with demographic information to complete its ranking.
