A Munford man has been charged with first degree murder and arson after a fire on East Drive Tuesday morning.
Munford Police Chief Randal Baskin said firefighters were dispatched to the home at approximately 4 a.m. and found an elderly man dead in the yard. The man has not been identified by police.
Police have charged 51-year-old Jonathan Rieben with first degree murder and aggravated arson, that is setting a fire which caused an injury or death. He is currently in custody in the Tipton County Jail and is being held without bond.

“I applaud the great work by detectives on this case and appreciate all departments involved with the assistance,” Baskin said. “I want to extend my condolences to the family that lost a loved one today and assure you we will not stop until justice is served.”
