Tractor pull coming to Covington Saturday night

By Jeff Ireland on August 5, 2021

Who’s tractor and/or truck can pull the heaviest stuff?

That question will be answered Saturday night at Covington’s Cobb-Parr Memorial Park when the United States Pullers Association comes to town for a tractor and truck pull.

The event will also serve as a fundraiser for local woman Liz Buckley Turner, who is battling cancer.

Things get started in the riding arena at 7 p.m. Admission is $12 and children six and under will be admitted free. There will also be a silent auction and some free concessions.

The event’s theme is “Kicking Cancer to the Curb.”

“We’re expecting a big turnout Saturday night,” said Steve Bringle, the event’s organizer. “It’s a great family event and an opportunity to raise some money, too.”

Classes include super stock tractors, super farm tractors, pro-stock diesel trucks, 4.1 limited pro, hot farm tractors, farm stock tractors, light mixed tractors and local trucks.

For more information about the event, contact Bringle at 901-237-1040 or log on to www.usapullers.org.
