Mrs. Molly Laverne Hudson, 83, of Brighton, passed away on the evening of October 11, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hudson was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Brighton.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her husband, Mr. Harold Hudson of Brighton; her daughters, Patsy Hatfield of Covington, Darlene Long (John) of Granville, Tenn. and Carol Smith of Brighton; her son, Ricky Downing (Christy) of Brighton; her siblings, Ruby Reynolds, Desmond Joy, and John Joy; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Dawson and Steven Downing; her siblings, Donald Joy, Betty Joy and Jeanette Hamblin and by her parents, John Alvin and Josie Bell Joy.
Visitation for Mrs. Hudson was held on Monday night, Oct. 14, from 5- 8 p.m. at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Funeral services took place on Tuesday at noon. Interment followed in Covington Memorial Gardens.
The family has requested memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
