Following suit with schools in neighboring counties, Tipton County has closed its public schools through March 30.
This will give personnel an extra week to work on thoroughly cleaning the schools, said superintendent Dr. John Combs in a call-out Friday afternoon.

The closure also applies to the School-Aged Childcare (SACC) program and also cancels or postpones extracurricular activities, practices and games.
“We know this may be a hardship for some families, and we sincerely appreciate your support and understanding,” Combs said. “This decision was not made without an abundance of input from local health representatives.”
