Tipton County recorded its second positive case of the COVID-19 coronavirus Friday morning.
The Tennessee Department of Health reported the positive result to county executive Jeff Huffman. The identity and location of the patients has not been released, but both are residents of Tipton County.
Huffman encourages the public not to panic.
“We need to heed the advice of the experts. We’ll be fine, we’ll get through this.”
The number of positive cases is expected to increase as more tests are being conducted.
The first case was reported Thursday afternoon.
TDH updates informational websites each afternoon. Friday morning the official statewide count was 154, but the numbers did not yet reflect the cases in Tipton or Fayette counties. Shelby County has 10 confirmed cases and Dyer County reportedly has 2.
