A Covington woman was arrested following a shooting Wednesday night.

Police say 32-year-old Margaret Smith was charged with aggravated assault and tampering with evidence after shooting a man during a domestic dispute at the Cottonwood Apartment complex.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was in stable condition at The Med last night.

At press time, Smith was still in custody at the Tipton County Jail.
