Arrest made in the murder of Munford man at Millington restaurant

By Echo Day on November 13, 2021

Jutson McKnight, 30, of Memphis, was arrested and charged with the murder of Tim Carver of Munford.

A Munford man was killed Friday night at the Millington Margaritas after an angry customer sought revenge.

Millington Police said 55-year-old Tim Carver stepped in to help a staff member remove 30-year-old Jutson McKnight from the restaurant and 20 minutes later McKnight returned and shot Carver.

Carver, whom police said was a lifelong resident of the Millington area, died at the scene. He was a 1984 graduate of Millington Central High School and is believed to have worked as a fire alarm inspector.

Police chief Mark Dunbar said McKnight was arrested at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Shelby County Sheriff’s office and the multiagency gang unit.

McKnight, of Memphis, is currently being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
