Brighton High School’s administration notified parents Wednesday that after a student found a bomb threat in the bathroom the campus and every bag brought into the building would be searched.

The student reportedly found a message scrawled above a urinal at about 12:45 p.m. today saying, “the school will be blown up at 12:25 tomorrow … better stay home.”

“Our school is committed to the safety of all of our students. We also want to clearly community with parents about safety issues when they arise,” the administration said in a message. “All threats to our school or students are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. We wanted you to have the facts so you can discuss them with your child and emphasize the seriousness of this issue.”
