Class of 2021: Meet Covington’s Top 10

With graduation fewer than three months away, the Class of 2021 is gearing up for commencement.

This week, the Tipton County Board of Education has announced the following seniors as the top 10 at their respective schools.

In some cases, administrators had to use ACT scores and numerical averages of core classes to determine class ranking.

Here’s Covington’s Top 10:

1. Lucas James Ballard, GPA 4.0, ACT 35; son of Mark and Shari Ballard of Ripley

2. Kalynn Ryan Howard, GPA 4.0, ACT 23 ; daughter of Ryan Howard of Covington and Amy Howard of Covington

3. Kellsiya Vanee Hood, GPA 4.0, ACT 20; daughter of Kellisia Williams of Memphis and Marlow Burnett of Covington

4. Madison Paige Rowland, GPA 3.9818, ACT 28 ; daughter of Thomas and April Rowland of Covington

5. Ethan Alexander Wilson, GPA 3.9811, ACT 32; son of Gary and Angela Wilson of Covington

6. Sarah Nicole Ellis, GPA 3.9783, ACT 25 ; daughter of Rodney and Nicole Ellis of Atoka

7. MarthaAnn Stuart Roach, GPA 3.9630, ACT 28; daughter of Kenneth and Ronda Roach of Covington

8. Anthony Evan Ybarra, GPA 3.9623, ACT 31; son of Terri Ybarra of Covington

9. Makenzie Taylor Rowland, GPA 3.9623, ACT 24; daughter of Thomas and April Rowland of Covington

10. Cassie Elizabeth McDaniel, GPA 3.9623, ACT 23; daughter of Josh and Tiffany McDaniel of Covington

The Class of 2021 will graduate on May 20 (Brighton), May 21 (Munford) and May 24 (Covington). The Leader will recognize graduates in its Class of 2021 magazine in early June.
