E’SHIRA CURRIE, DOB:  06/17/2009 NO.   24-JV-127

NOTICE OF ENTRY REQUIRED

A CHILD UNDER EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE

CHILD WAS REMOVED INTO DCS CUSTODY THROUGH EXIGENT CIRCUMSTANCES ON JUNE 2, 2025 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:45 PM

AMENDED ORDER FOR SERVICE BY PUBLICATION

It appearing to the Court from the allegations of the Petition, Motion for Publication and the Affidavits of Diligent Search that the whereabouts of Cherokee Tipton and Elton Currie are unknown and cannot be ascertained by diligent search; therefore, the ordinary process of law cannot be served upon them. It is ORDERED that Cherokee Tipton and Elton Currie be served by publication with the following notice to be inserted in each publication one (1) time per week for four (4) consecutive weeks. Publication shall run in a physical newspaper of general circulation in the county in which Cherokee Tipton and Elton Currie were last known to reside.

It is further ORDERED that if Cherokee Tipton and Elton Currie do not enter an appearance or otherwise answer the Petition, further personal service or service by further publication shall be dispensed with and service of any future notices, motions, orders or other legal documents in this matter may be made upon Cherokee Tipton and Elton Currie by filing same with the Juvenile Court Clerk of Tipton County, Tennessee.

NOTICE TO:

Cherokee Tipton and Elton Currie: The State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, has filed a PETITION TO ADJUDICATE DEPENDENCY AND NEGLECT AND FOR TEMPORARY LEGAL CUSTODY AND FOR EX PARTE ORDER regarding the minor child, E’SHIRA CURRIE, born on JUNE 17, 2009. It further appears that ordinary process of law cannot be served upon you because your whereabouts are unknown. You are hereby ORDERED to appear in the Juvenile Court of Tipton County, Tennessee located at 1801 South College Street, Ste. 102, Covington, Tennessee, on the 20TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 2025 at 9:00 A.M. to personally answer the Petition. Failing to appear for the hearing on this date and time, without good cause, pursuant to the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure and the Tennessee Rules of Juvenile Practice and Procedure, will result in the loss of your right to contest the Petition. You may view and obtain a copy of the Petition and any other subsequently filed legal documents at the Tipton County Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office.
