Despite having multiple head coaches and enduring some difficult seasons, Meacham stuck with Brighton for four years and he got the payoff last Thursday. In front of family, coaches, teammates and friends, … [Read more...] about Brighton’s Pierce Meacham signs with Cumberland University

Covington routs Liberty Tech to solidify playoff position

By The Leader on October 10, 2023

Normally they turn out the lights when the game is over. It took nearly 40 minutes to get all the lights on at Liberty Tech on Friday night. Once they did come on, the Crusaders (0-7, 0-4 Region) likely wished for a power failure. There was no lack of power for the Chargers (6-2, 4-1 Region), who scored 10 touchdowns en route to a 70-12 Region 7-3A victory. The point total … [Read more...] about Covington routs Liberty Tech to solidify playoff position

Chargers pick up dramatic win vs. Fairley in Memphis

By The Leader on September 25, 2023

“Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.” - Gen. Robert R. Neyland, game maxim No. 6 For all of the big plays that happened in Covington’s 42-38 win over Fairley on Friday at J.P. Freeman Stadium in Memphis, none may have been more important than Fairley's five failed two-point conversion attempts.
