Accused of rape of a child, Alissa McCommon resigned from her position as a teacher

Alissa McCommon, the fourth grade teacher recently charged with raping a 12-year-old, officially resigned her position last week. Brighton High School student charged with threatening to shoot up the school

A 14-year-old was charged with threatening a mass shooting, Brighton Mayor Stephanie Chapman-Washam said Wednesday. The Brighton High School resource officer became aware of a threat to "shoot up the school" made through Snapchat on Wednesday morning. Covington fourth grade teacher Alissa McCommon has been arrested following an investigation into sex assault allegations. She has been charged with rape of a child, which is unlawful sexual penetration of a victim by the defendant or the defendant by a victim, if the victim is between 8-13 years of age. She faces 25 years in prison if convicted.
