Former Covington, Munford basketball coach Tim Halford inducted into BCAT Hall of Fame

Atoka police investigating stabbing that left two people wounded

The Atoka Police Department is investigating a violent incident involving a stabbing that occurred Friday evening on Highway 51 South. Spanyada Adams indicted in 2022 murder of Betty Goheen

A Covington man was indicted this week for killing a woman in Covington in 2022. Betty Goheen, of Munford, was found dead at a home on South College Street on April 9, 2022. Spanyada Adams, the man who was reportedly alone with her at the time of her death, told police she overdosed on drugs. Petty Officer 3rd Class William Ballard, a native of Atoka serves aboard a U.S. Navy warship operating out of Norfolk, Va. Ballard graduated in 2020 from Munford High School. One in custody, one still at large after highway shooting

One of the suspects in Friday morning's shooting on Hwy. 51 North has turned himself in, Sheriff Shannon Beasley confirmed on Saturday.
