COVID-19 testing hours extended at the Tipton County Health Department

Update: The health department has changed the hours it will be testing, so those reflected in a previous version of this story are now incorrect. There were no surprises when it came to the elections of Tennessee's legislators. Republican Bill Hagerty of Nashville handily won the U.S. Senate seat with 75.04 percent of votes (19,546). Voter turnout in Tipton County this year was 70.5 – the highest ever

Among the headlines this election was its historic voter turnout. During early voting, a record 21,929 people cast their ballots. A total of 27,487 of Tipton’s 38,968 active voters cast ballots in the November 2020 election. Brighton and Munford elect their first Black aldermen

On Tuesday, the Town of Brighton and the City of Munford elected the first Black aldermen in each town’s history. In Brighton, former police officer Sonny Foster earned the second-most votes in the race where four aldermen are elected.
