The Tipton County Museum announced their October Gardening Series will be virtual this year

The Tipton County Museum announced it will be hosting the annual October Gardening Series for free this year on Zoom, an online meeting forum.

“Due to COVID-19, we are limited to having small groups inside the museum,” said museum director Barrie Foster.

Here’s the schedule:

Let’s Talk Organics – Oct. 3

On Saturday, Oct. 3, Dr. Chris Cooper will present “Let’s Talk Organics” from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  Dr. Cooper is the Shelby County Master Gardener Coordinator and creator of WKNO’s “The Family Plot.”

Controlling Insects on Turfgrass – Oct. 10

On Saturday, Oct. 10, Booker T. Leigh will present “Controlling Insects on Turfgrass” from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  Mr. Leigh is a Shelby County Extension Agent and creator of WYPL’s “What’s Growing On.”  He was formerly the Tipton County Extension Agent and wrote a column for The Leader for many years.

Certify Your Yard – Oct. 17

On Saturday Oct. 17, Sherl Rose will present “Certify Your Yard” from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  Ms. Rose is the Tipton County Museum Naturalist and Pollinator Expert.

Roses Through Time – Oct. 24

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Barrie Foster will present “Roses Through Time” from 10 to 11:30 a.m.  Ms. Foster is Director of the Tipton County Museum and a rose enthusiast.

“As the meetings will all be live, there will be plenty of time for questions and answers,” Foster said.

Participants do not have to pre-register. The meeting ID is 763 650 1547 and the passcode is garden.
