The Lady Chargers improved to 25-8 with a pair of wins.
The first came on Saturday over Camden Central. Covington beat Millington 16-2 in district play on Monday.
Leah Beasley and Anna Gover led the nine-hit attack against Camden with a pair of RBI singles each. Also with hits were Kalynn Howard, Charleigh Cole, Lauren Vickery and McKenzie Richardson.
Beasley got the win with a five-inning, five-hit outing. She walked two and struck out five. Lauren Vickery tossed two innings allowing a run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Covington closed a perfect District 15-AA slate against Millington. Four players accounted for 12 of the Lady Chargers’ 19 hits in the game. Anna Gover, Brooke Johnson, Cole and Richardson all collected three hits apiece. Not far behind with two hits each were Ali Gover and Beasley. Johnson went 4.2 innings, giving up twoi runs on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Vickery closed out the win with a strikeout.
CHS is scheduled to close the regular season at Arlington on Tuesday.
