Tipton County mask mandate extended through Sept. 30

On Friday, Tipton County Executive Jeff Huffman extended the county-wide mask mandate to Sept. 30. The extension came on the heels of Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signing Executive Order 59, which extends the authority of county mayors to institute mask mandates. Gov. May 6: Tipton records its second death

Tipton County recorded its second COVID-19-related death. The Tennessee Department of Health will not release the identity of the patients who died, but The Leader has learned the first was a man who was hospitalized in Memphis. He died on Sunday.
