May 6: Tipton records its second death

Tipton County recorded its second COVID-19-related death. The Tennessee Department of Health will not release the identity of the patients who died, but The Leader has learned the first was a man who was hospitalized in Memphis. He died on Sunday. Governor changes course on salons re-opening, moving date from May 29 to May 6

Though Tuesday evening's executive order stated the personal care industry would remain closed through May 29, Wednesday morning Gov. Bill Lee told lawmakers the state's salons and barbershops could re-open on Wednesday, May 6. Salons and spas will remain closed through May – and here’s what else will stay closed in the latest executive order

Salons, spas and barbershops will remain until after May 29, Gov. Bill Lee ordered Tuesday through Executive Order No. 30.
