Dozens of Tipton County student athletes took part in last week's state track meet in Murfreesboro and a handful brought home state titles. The 2023 West AA Sectional Track and Field Championship Meet was held last week in appalling weather conditions. Teams were forced to sit out a lengthy weather delay due to lightning and when events resumed the wet conditions played havoc with performances. Christian Perez wins state decathlon while multiple athletes qualify for Tuesday’s state meet
It's been quite a last couple of weeks for the Munford High boys' and girls' track and field teams. On May 19 and 20 in Brentwood, senior Christian Perez became the first Munford track athlete to take first at a state meet when he won the decathlon.
