As restaurants prepare for re-opening next week, Jose Reyes reflects on generosity of the community

April 22: Tipton’s case count at 83 for third straight day

For three straight days Tipton County's number of confirmed cases has been 83. Though the county averaged two new cases per day, an outbreak at the Mason prison caused the number of cases to increase from 56 on Sunday. April 21: Confirmed cases count holds at 83

Tipton County's official count held steady at 83 Tuesday, a spike the day before being attributed to an outbreak at the prison in Mason. The number of confirmed cases hasn't increased, but the numbers of completed tests and recoveries has. In his daily briefing, Gov. April 20: There’s a COVID-19 outbreak at the prison in Mason

More than two dozen confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported at the West Tennessee Detention Facility, county executive Jeff Huffman said Monday morning. The U.S. Marshals Service, which houses its inmates in Mason, confirmed Monday afternoon there were 28 inmates who'd tested positive. Those cases brought Tipton's total confirmed cases to 83 Monday. April 18: More than 250 people tested at surge event Saturday

Close to 3 p.m. Saturday dozens of cars were waiting for their turn for COVID-19 testing at an event set up by the Tennessee Department of Health. April 17: Testing ramps up, Tipton increases to 55 cases

This week the state began testing anyone who wants to be tested and the number of tests being conducted skyrocketed Friday. A week ago, Tipton had conducted 436 tests, which was considerably higher than its rural neighbors. This week, that increased from 562 on Monday to 587 on Tuesday, 595 on Wednesday and 599 Thursday.
