Week 8 football previews: Brighton, Covington, Munford will each be heavy favorites tonight

By Jeff Ireland on October 8, 2021

You can now legally gamble on college and professional football, but not high school football just yet.

I doubt you’ll be able to any time soon, but if there were lines on tonight’s home games for Brighton, Covington and Munford, they would be very large.

According to Sonny Moore’s power rankings, which rank all 341 Tennessee high school football teams each week, all three local teams will be heavy favorites

Covington (29th) is ranked 262 spots ahead of Bolivar, Brighton (147th) is 143 spots ahead of Kingsbury and Munford (58th) is 256 spots ahead of Southwind.

According to Moore’s power ranking number, all three teams are favored by more than four touchdowns.

It should be an enjoyable experience for all the home team fans tonight.
