These Covington High FFA students won national awards

The Covington High FFA chapter went to FFA Camp June 25-29.

Twenty five leaders from the chapter were recognized. The chapter was also recognized in early August after the National FFA released its award judging results.  The chapter will be recognized as a 3-star chapter, which is the highest recognition a chapter can received.  

Averi Cole will compete this fall in Indianapolis as national finalist in her agriscience fair project in social systems division V.  

In the proficiency awards, several students were recognized and they include the following: Will Turner (national gold) in small animal care, Averi Cole (national gold) in home and community development, Alex Daniel (national bronze) in diversified crop production, Wesley Gray (national bronze) in grain production, and Steven Sartain (national bronze) in environmental and NRM.  

The chapter has also been very busy this summer with exhibiting both cattle and sheep.  Students have exhibited in Lebanon,Tenn., Martin, Tenn.,  New Albany, Miss. and Cookeville, Tenn.
