Week 2 of the high school football season is upon us and it brings four interesting matchups locally: A longstanding rivalry game with the M & M Bowl (Munford vs. Millington), two interesting public school-private school contests (Brighton vs. Northpoint and TRA vs. Overton) and an old rivalry (Covington-North Side) renewed. One thing to know: Brighton quarterback Nick Harvell did not play last week for undisclosed reasons but is expected to return Friday night.
What: Tipton-Rosemark (1-0) vs. Overton (0-1)
Where: Rosemark
When: Saturday at 7 p.m.
Players to watch: Rosemark – QB Payne Fullen, OL Gibson Phillips, WR Sam Cannon, RB Tyler Byrd
One thing to know: In a 47-0 win last week vs. Halls, Tyler Byrd scored five touchdowns for the Rebels.
