Early voting will begin Friday in the special primary set to determine Republican and Democratic candidates for the District 32 Senate seat.
In October, Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris (R-Collierville) was confirmed a U.S. district judge, vacating the 32nd district seat he held for nearly two decades.
The primary will decide a Republican candidate who will face lone Democrat Eric Coleman in the March 12 special election.
Republicans George Chism, Steve McManus, Paul Rose and Heidi Shafer have qualified.
In Tipton County, voters can cast ballots at the Election Commission – 113 E. Church Street, Covington – or at Munford’s City Hall Boardroom – 70 College Street, Munford – from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday, 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
Voters can visit either location during the early voting period, no matter their polling location on election day.
Early voting in the primary will end on Jan. 19. Election day is Jan. 24.
The 32nd district encompasses all of Tipton County and parts of eastern Shelby County.
