Friday night previews for Brighton, Covington, Munford and Tipton-Rosemark

For two local teams, their playoff hopes are on the line tonight. The other two are tuning up for the postseason. Here’s a quick look at tonight’s games for Brighton, Covington, Munford and TRA.

What: Munford (8-0 overall, 4-0 Region 8-5A) vs. Kingsbury (1-7, 0-4)

Where: Munford

When: Friday at 7 p.m.

Players to watch: Munford – QB Jordan Bell, RB Braxton Sharp, RB Jace Hodgin, LB Tristan Bohannon, WR Isaiah Cobbs

One thing to know: Get there early if you want to see the starters play. This one’s expected to be dominated by the home team.

What: Covington (7-1) vs. Haywood (8-0)

Where: Covington

When: Friday at 7 p.m.

Players to watch: Covington – RB Jamarion Dowell, RB Skylan Smith, DB A.C. Mason-Young, QB Braden Gover

One thing to know: This the second straight week the Chargers will try and take down a team in a larger classification. The Tomcats, ranked near the top of the state in 5A, beat Covington 33-0 last year.

What: Brighton (3-5 overall, 1-3 Region 8-5A) vs. Dyer County (3-5, 1-3)

Where: Brighton

When: Friday at 7 p.m.

Players to watch: Brighton – QB Hunter Lampley, RB Pierce Meacham, DB Keagan Jarmon, WR Jalen Terry, RB Ty Stark

One thing to know: The Cardinals can stay in the hunt for a playoff spot with a win vs. the Choctaws.

What: Tipton-Rosemark (1-6 overall, 1-4 DII-A-West) vs. First Assembly Christian School (2-6, 1-3)

Where: Rosemark

When: Friday at 7 p.m.

Players to watch: Rosemark – QB Sam Cannon, WR Will Hughes, WR Aiden Petrowski, RB Nix Fullen

One thing to know: TRA, in its regular season finale, can clinch a playoff berth with a win.
