David Brian “BJ” Smith

Date of Death – July 26, 2019

 

Mr. David Brian “BJ” Smith, Jr., 27 of Brighton, passed away on the morning of Friday, July 26, 2019. BJ was a member of the class of 2010 from Brighton High School where he was a FFA Officer, a member of the First United Pentecostal Church, an avid fisherman and hunter, a member of the NTPA, the Mid -South Pullers Association, the Ken-Tenn Pullers Association, and the West Tennessee HRC, and was an employee for the First Utility District ,where he worked as an operator. 

BJ is survived by his parents, Brian and Jenny Smith of Brighton; his sister, Jordan “LuLu” Smith (Taylor) of Brighton; his fiance, Sam Hill of Brighton and his grandparents, David F. “Rip” Smith of Brighton and Bobby and Brenda Compton of Paris. 

BJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brenda Smith and Charles Peeler. 

The services for BJ were held on Sunday, July 28, at 3 p.m. at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. The family  received friends from 12:30 – 3 p.m., prior to the services beginning, with interment following in Indian Creek Cemetery.
