Simmons touched many lives with her loving heart

By The Leader on April 9, 2020

Barbara A. Simmons
April 18, 1941 – April 5, 2020

The family of Barbara A Simmons announces with heavy hearts that she has left this earth on April 5, 2020, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Barbara was a loving and generous wife, mother, and Mawmaw. She loved her family and was always gathering them together for family meals, especially on Sunday’s after church.

She was a member of Beaver Baptist Church and loved to sing and learn about God’s Word. She worked at Wal-Mart for 27 years in Millington, as a department manager and went on to retire to do what she loved best, quilting.

She was a member of the Piece Makers Quilting club in Millington and she spent hours cutting and sewing quilts for different organizations such as hospitals, nursing homes, women’s shelters, and most importantly, her family. She touched many lives in our community with her loving heart and generosity and will be missed by all.

She leaves behind her beloved husband of 62 years, C. C. Simmons Jr., one son, Terry Simmons, of Munford, and two daughters, Bobbie Jo (Johnny) Robertson of Munford and Missy (Carlos) Perez of Munford. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Wesley Brooks and her daughter, Debbie Covert.

Her faith is now sight, praise be to God and may he receive the glory through her passing.
