Melba Jean Sims

Mrs. Melba Jean Sims, 79, of Covington, passed away on the morning of October 13, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. Mrs. Sims, the widow of Mr. Paul Rayburn Sims, Sr., was retired from Intercraft and was a member of the Covington Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Sims is survived by her daughter, Barbara Gail Homan of Lakeland, Fla.; her son, Kenneth Sims of Ripley; her sisters, Judy Sanders and Debra Bailey both of Henning; her six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her son, Paul Rayburn Sims, Jr. and by her parents, Dallas Sales and Mary Parks Mashburn.

Visitation for Mrs. Sims was held on Wednesday night, Oct. 16, from 5-8 p.m. at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Funeral services took place Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. Interment follwed in Charleston Cemetery.

The family has requested memorials be sent to the Covington Church of the Nazarene.
