Mr. John David Byrd, 92, member of Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, died Thursday, December 5, 2019, in Ripley. Mr. Byrd was a World War II US Army Veteran and a self-employed auto body repairman.
The husband of Donna Parker Byrd, he also leaves his daughters Amber Byrd Parker of Millington, Joan Lewis-McCammon of Southaven, Miss., Pat (Ricky) Dillard of Hernando, Miss. and Judy(Smitty) Smith of Virginia; step-sons Wally (Sherry) Burdette and Kenny (Linda) Burdette, both of Covington, and Mitch (Sonja) Stegall of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; sisters Mamie Lou (Bob) Covington of Houston, Texas, Lillian Cross of Bartlett, Mary (Wayne) Green of Gainesville and Alice Faye Miller of Maryville, Tenn.; brothers Shelby Byrd of Pocohontas, AR, Billy (Carolyn) Byrd of Brighton and Jerry (Jan) Byrd of Covington and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son John David Byrd, Jr.; sister Alma Lane; and brothers Richard Byrd and Tony Byrd.
Funeral services were held at p.m. on Monday, December 9, at Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with visitation beginning two hours prior. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.
