Uncover Your Family’s History with the Tipton County Museum’s Genealogy Course

Are you curious about your family’s past but unsure where to begin? Join Museum Archivist and genealogist Sherri Onorati for a six-week “Digging for Roots: Discovering Your ‘Lost’ Ancestors” course at the Tipton County Museum.

This beginner-friendly genealogy class kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m., and will guide you through the exciting journey of uncovering your family’s history.

Held every Saturday for six weeks, this course is perfect for those new to genealogy. You’ll learn:

• How to start your family research journey

• Where to find and collect data about your ancestors

• How to use genealogical resources and cite your sources

• Tips for organizing and compiling your findings into a meaningful family history

Whether you’re building a family legacy or simply curious about the stories behind your ancestors, this course will give you the tools to get started.

What You Need to Know:

• Cost: $85 for museum members and $100 for non-members (all materials included).

• Location: Tipton County Museum, 901-476-0422, or visit tiptoncountymuseum.org.

• Extras: Bring a laptop or tablet if you’d like, but it’s not required.
