Tipton County to host two Independence Day celebrations

By Echo Day on June 28, 2025

Independence Day will be celebrated in a big way this year with two major public events in Covington and Munford, each offering fireworks, food trucks, and festive fun for all ages.

Faith & Freedom Fireworks Show – Sunday, June 29

First Baptist Church of Covington will host its annual Faith & Freedom Fireworks Show on Sunday, June 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at 2105 Highway 59 South. The event will include fireworks, food trucks, and fellowship in a patriotic, family-friendly environment.

Food vendors include Moe’s Southwest Grill, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, 901 Nacho Lemonade, The Sugar Shack, The Sno Cottage, Fletchy’s Freeze Dried Treats, and Stir-Fry Mania. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxed evening leading up to the fireworks at dusk.

Celebrate Independence in Munford – Thursday, July 3

The City of Munford’s Celebrate Independence celebration returns Thursday, July 3, with a full evening of festivities in Downtown Munford and Poplar Park. Activities begin at 5 p.m., including bounce houses provided by Epique Realty and a wide variety of food trucks, including Paradise Grill, 901 Eats & Treats, Llama’s Frozen Sweets, 2KC Cookie Co., and Mempops.

At 6:30 p.m., the brand-new Veterans Plaza will host its Grand Opening with a pre-show concert featuring the band Almost Famous. The night will conclude with a large-scale fireworks display once the sun goes down.

Both events are free to attend and offer a safe, family-focused atmosphere to celebrate the holiday. Residents are encouraged to arrive early, bring chairs or blankets, and enjoy a star-spangled celebration in Tipton County.
