Covington High graduate Shane Elam became a starter on the Ole Miss football team and came up with a TD to lead the Rebels past Vanderbilt.

September 24, 2003

Led by senior Rob Phillips, the Munford High School golf team won the region title to qualify for the state tournament.

September 30, 2008

Gov. Phil Bredesen announced that six Tipton County agencies had received $118,378 in grants to help the community.

September 26, 2013

Former Tipton County Sheriff Buddy Lewis was named the police chief for Covington, replacing Tim Glass, who retired for medical reasons.
