Children who enjoy acting will have an excellent chance to learn and produce a play this summer.

Tryouts for the Tipton Arts Council Theater Camp will be held at Covington Integrated Arts Academy the next two Saturdays (June 4 and 11) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children entering grades two through eight are eligible.

This is the seventh year the camp has been organized by Barbara McBride, who has been involved in the arts in Tipton County for many years.

“It’s always fabulous,” said McBride. “We do everything in one week.”

Those chosen for the camp will spend the week of June 20-23 rehearsing for “The Lion King,” which will hit the stage on June 24, the final day of camp.

For more information, contact McBride at 901-237-4006.
