Caprice Peete, 22, was arrested in Hunstville, Ala. after a shooting at a strip club Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

One of the 22-year-olds wanted for the murder of Dontavious Edwards last week was arrested this weekend and is the suspect in a New Year’s shooting.

Caprice Peete was picked up Saturday night at the club in Huntsville, Ala. and charged with a shooting that took place in the parking lot the night before.

Peete allegedly got into a fight with another man, shot him in the chest/shoulder and fled the scene, only to return the next night. The victim’s girlfriend recognized him and called the Madison County Sheriff’s Office who arrested Peete without incident.

After the arrest in Alabama the MCSO realized he was wanted for murder in Tennessee. The first-degree murder warrants were entered into the National Crime Information Center database, which is accessible by law enforcement agencies all over the country.

“From what we’ve been told, the bouncers were holding him for police,” said Covington Police Chief Larry Lindsey.

He’s being held at the Madison County Detention Facility awaiting extradition.

The Alabama shooting victim’s injuries are not life threatening.

Terrance Taylor II, also 22, is the other suspect in Edwards’ murder. He is still at large.

Anyone with information on Taylor’s whereabouts is asked to contact Sgt. William Nelson at 901-517-5580 or Lt. Rodney McCurry at 901-573-1586.
