The precautionary lockdown at Brighton schools has been lifted.

At 9:37 a.m. the school system tweeted it had initiated the lockdown.

Parents began posting about a police presence at the schools at approximately 9:40 a.m.

At 10:24 a.m., Brighton High School tweeted the lockdown had been lifted.

The nature of the rumors has not yet been released, but superintendent Dr. John Combs said the rumors were not credible.
