Atoka police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured, the department said Tuesday.
Officers responded to a shooting on Brittany Lane at approximately 8:14 p.m. Monday night finding one of the men had already died. The other was transported to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis and was in critical condition.
Neither has been identified by police.
“At this point in the investigation, this incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic violence situation involving family members,” said Atoka Police Chief Anthony Rudolph.
The investigation is on-going.
Atoka is consistently ranked among the top safest cities in Tennessee, this year ranking ninth in the state.
