Meet the winners of the 2021 Tails of Tipton pet calendar contest

By Echo Day on December 17, 2020

After several weeks of voting, Milli and Iggy Millican has been named the winner of the 2021 Pet Calendar Contest.

“We are so excited for Milli and Iggy and are thrilled to have them on the cover the upcoming calendar,” said Leader publisher Scott Whaley. “This annual event was awesome and we appreciate the participation of our readers to help make it successful.”

More than four dozen pets – including donkeys and a hedgehog – were entered.

The proceeds from the contest and calendar sales, which will be announced when donated, will benefit Friends of the Tipton County Animal Shelter, Tipton County Paws and Claws and Covington Animal Rescue Effort.

As the grand prize winners, Milli and Iggy will be on the cover of the calendar and will receive a special grand prize.

In addition to Milli and Iggy, the following will be featured in the calendar:

  • Rudy, owned by Joanne Simonton
  • Gizmo, owned by Elaine Shelby
  • Forrest, owned by Callie Rickard
  • Luna, owned by Jennifer Stevens
  • Gemma Dark Star, owned by Cynthia Johnson
  • Sadie, owned by Annie Butler
  • Blu Wayne, owned by Lisa Bryson
  • Tic Tac and Taco, owned by April Smith
  • Fable, owned by Melissa Randolph
  • Lou Lou, owned by Jasmine Fussell
  • Bowie, owned by Brandi Hamm

Calendars featuring Milli and Iggy and the rest of the top 12 winners will be $5 and can be pre-ordered.

They will be available for subscribers in the Jan. 2 issue and will be available for purchase at that time as well.

“I want to personally thank each and every person who voted for helping to make this contest a successful fundraiser for two of our local rescue organizations,” Whaley said. “We look forward to publishing this calendar and running next year’s contest as well.”
