Looking to celebrate Galentines? Here’s what’s happening in Tipton County

By Echo Day on January 22, 2025

Galentines Day – the day in which we celebrate our female friendships, which originated from an episode of Parks & Recreation – is coming and local merchants have fun activities for you and your girlfriends to enjoy together.

Decorate cookies with your faves

Join Akins Clothing Co. and Flowers & Frosting Cake Co. for their first-ever Galentine’s Cookie Decorating Night on Friday, Jan. 24 with wine, charcuterie, and lots of laughter. Decorate classic chocolate chip cookie cakes with your chosen theme while they handle the rest. Booking required through Akins + Flowers & Frosting Cake Co. The event starts at 5 p.m.

Make a galentines cupcake bouquet

Celebrate friendship and creativity with a Cupcake Bouquet Decorating Class on Friday, Jan. 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Dulce Amada Bakery in Covington. This fun-filled event includes all materials, snacks, drinks, and a certificate to mark your sweet success. Reserve your spot now—bring your BFF and get 10% off if you sign up together before Thursday!

Paint something fun together

On Friday, Jan. 31, the Turquoise Paintbrush will have a Valentine Ladies Night special with 10% off and on Saturday, Feb. 15 they will host a Bridgerton Galentines night for $35/person.

Sip and shop around Tipton County

On Thursday, Feb. 6, a couple of local retail shops will be hosting sip and shop events. Liberty Vintage Marketplace (100 Union Street, in Covington’s Depot District) and Akins Clothing Co. (44 N Tipton Street, Munford) invite you and your besties to have a drink, some tasty treats, and do some shopping. If you’re interested in shopping with a side of Botox and fillers, BayPoint Boutique on the square will have Dr. Ken Larkins on hand and you can sip a drink and shop their Valentines collection while you wait.

Visit the annual Chocolate Tour on the Square

Join the merchants and vendors on the square on Saturday, Feb. 8 for the 13th Annual Chocolate Tour in Historic Downtown Covington, featuring 20 stops showcasing decadent chocolates from the Sweet Spot of West Tennessee. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 10, available online or at the Covington-Tipton County Chamber of Commerce. Complete all stops for a chance to win a gift basket filled with goodies—don’t wait, tickets are limited! For more information, see https://www.facebook.com/events/1742893769887780.

How well do you know your Friends?

Test your knowledge of the beloved TV show Friends at Trivia Night on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Tipton County Museum! Gather your team of up to six, enjoy 10 fun-filled rounds of questions, and compete for ultimate bragging rights—all while supporting the museum’s expansion fund. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the trivia fun starts at 7 p.m. For more information, see tiptoncountymuseum.org.

Enjoy Ladies Night at The Cellar

Grab your besties and visit the Prohibition-themed restaurant and bar The Cellar in Covington for Ladies Night. Each Thursday you can sip on wine or a cocktail, nibble on the C&C Platter (or maybe the barbecue eggrolls, a fan favorite), and yap for hours in a cozy setting.
