Friday, the Tennessee Supreme Court issued an order suspending in-person court proceedings until after March 31 after declaring a state of emergency for the judicial branch.

The suspension includes, but is not limited to, municipal, juvenile, general sessions, trial and appellate courts.

The Tipton County Justice Complex will be open, but no court proceedings will be held unless they were already in progress.

Court dates will be reset and defendants are encouraged to be in contact with their attorneys regarding new dates.

There are several exceptions to this order, such as bond-related matters, relief from abuse and emergency custody hearings.

Traffic safety school, with Jeff Fletcher, has been postponed until April 21.
