DSCC to offer Moderna vaccine on Saturdays at Covington campus

By Echo Day on April 15, 2021

Due to a pause in the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, the Dyersburg State Community College – Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County will provide the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine in its place.

First and second doses will be available to anyone 18 years and older every Saturday through the end of June from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Drop-ins are welcome; however, appointments are encouraged at www.dscc.edu/vaccine.

Patients should be prepared to wait on-site for up to 30 minutes following vaccination to ensure no immediate side effects occur.

DSCC is also accepting applications for those who would like to work at the vaccine point of distribution. Positions needed include data entry, registration, scheduling, and set up and wait area staff.

The application can be found at www.dscc.edu/vaccine. For more information, contact Baker McCool, EMS program director, at jmccool1@dscc.edu or 901-475-3189.

Patients are asked to follow signs to enter the vaccination site from the Highway 51 entrance.

The address to the DSCC Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County is 3149 Hwy 51 S., Covington, TN 38019.
