Depot Day brings live music, classic cars, and local flavor to Covington

By Echo Day on June 13, 2025

COVINGTON – The Depot District will come alive with music, food, and family fun during the inaugural Depot Day on Saturday, June 14 with a full day of entertainment, artisan vendors, and community celebration.

Hosted by the Covington Depot Art District, Liberty Vintage Marketplace, and 797 Distillery, Depot Day offers everything from spirit tastings and a crawfish boil to a car show and cornhole tournament.

A full slate of live music

The Liberty Vintage Stage will be the heart of the day’s festivities, with a diverse lineup of local talent performing throughout the afternoon and evening:

• 11 a.m. to noon – J. Wes Walker

• 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. – Noah Smyth

• 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. – KickN’Pony

• 3 p.m. – Car Show Awards Presentation

• 4 to 5 p.m. – Lyn Jones

• 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – Peter Blunt System

• 8 to 10 p.m. – Gilt Edge

Live music begins at 11 a.m. and continues into the evening, closing with a high-energy performance by local favorite Gilt Edge.

Festival highlights

In addition to live music, attendees can look forward to:

• Farmers market – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Crawfish boil – begins at 11 a.m. until sold out

• Car show – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Cornhole tournament – begins at 3 p.m.

• Spirit tastings at the newly opened 797 Distillery

• Food trucks, artisan vendors, beer garden, and more

Depot Day is free to attend, with food, beverages, and merchandise available for purchase.

Anchored in local tradition

Liberty Vintage Marketplace, a cornerstone of the Depot District, has long hosted the farmers market and the popular Depot Beats Concert Series. Its efforts have helped reenergize downtown and pave the way for events like Depot Day. Just next door, 797 Distillery—open since late May—will offer visitors a chance to sample locally crafted moonshine, whiskey, and rum.

Organizers hope Depot Day becomes a tradition that highlights Covington’s culture, small-town charm, and strong community ties.

The Depot District is located at East Liberty Avenue and Union Street in Covington. The day-long event takes place from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
