ATOKA — After a period of closure, Atoka Railroad Adventure is making a comeback.
The beloved family destination will officially reopen at 5 p.m. Friday, June 13, at 110 Michael Ave., offering outdoor attractions and a nostalgic return for families across Tipton County and beyond.
The revival was led by Amanda and Junior Faurbo, who partnered with longtime supporters and local businesses to restore the park. Amanda first approached Glen Brown with the idea of bringing back the attraction, which has long held a special place in the community.
The restoration effort is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Jim and Ola Brown, whose family originally launched the railroad-themed park.
“This reopening is more than just a fresh coat of paint,” organizers said. “It’s a mission—to honor the Brown family’s legacy and to bring back a place so many families hold dear.”
Outdoor activities will be fully operational, while indoor play areas are still being completed. To celebrate Father’s Day, dads will receive free miniature golf all weekend.
Organizers hope Atoka Railroad Adventure will once again be a go-to destination for families from Memphis to Jackson. Updates and announcements will be posted on the park’s Facebook page: facebook.com/AtokaRailroad.
